Public Television (PBS) usually holds a monthly or quarterly donation drive to keep the various stations running. That said, the volunteer-run Public Domain audiobook website LibriVox is currently asking for donations, mostly to cover in-production bandwidth costs. (The final products are safely stored at the Internet Archive.) The goal is $20,000, and LibriVox is “already close to half-way to our target, after two days,” according to founder Hugh McGuire. After the target money is raised, LibriVox won’t ask for money donations for the next few years.

I haven’t listened to this free album yet, so I can’t comment on its quality, but 20 In 10: Digital Collection [Amazon Exclusive] is a big collection of songs by the same band (Sister Hazel), and it could be worth a listen. In any case, it’s free. At the very least, you get what you pay for – but sometimes you get more.
